Greening Taupō Day 2026

We are painting the town green again!

We are celebrating the great work that Greening Taupō and Kids Greening Taupō do in our community by ‘Greening Taupō’ again! Each year, Greening Taupō Day brings together 2,000+ people, including over 1,000 students, for a festival-like Arbor Day planting and environmental education event.

Volunteers Needed for Greening Taupō Day

Greening Taupō Day is just around the corner, and we’re calling on our incredible Project Tongariro community to help make it another success! We’re looking for amazing volunteers to lend a hand with a range of roles on the day. Whether you can give an hour or stay the whole day, your help makes a real difference.

Volunteer roles include:

  • Parking Support: Assist with directing traffic and helping visitors find appropriate parking areas safely and efficiently.

  • Planting Support: Team up with students and the community to guide and support native tree planting.

  • Raffle Ticket Sales: Help us raise funds by selling raffle tickets and taking donations during the event.

  • Bus & Group Coordination: Help welcome school groups as they arrive, direct them to the right places to help ensure everything runs smoothly on site.

Got a business? Like trees? Perfect.

We need local legends (that’s you). Sponsor this much-loved community environmental festival and show your customers you’re serious about people, place and planet. We’ll make sure you’re seen, celebrated, and part of something genuinely good.
