Fine Feathered Friends: a focus on birds that the participants may know, extending to less common species to look out for as well.
Create a beautiful watercolour painting of an iconic native bird, such as tῡī, kererῡ, or pīwakawaka - and you’ll soon find yourself “looking with fresh eyes,” spotting them flying about in our natural environment!
These community watercolour classes are subsidised by Taupō District Council Creative Communities Scheme funding, making them accessible and affordable. No experience is needed, and all materials are provided. These sessions offer a wonderful way to connect with and experience nature through art.

Drink bottle (leak proof, to avoid any spills on your artwork)
Please do not attend if you are unwell, for everyone’s safety and enjoyment.
Booking fees and canceLLATION
The cost includes a $6 non-refundable booking fee. If your plans change and you need to cancel, please note that the booking fee will not be refunded. Cancellations made after 4 January 2026 will be fully non-refundable. If the event is cancelled by Project Tongariro, the cost (excluding the $6 booking fee) will be refunded or can be donated if you wish.
