Opepe Reserve Open Day & Trap Servicing - Mahi Aroha

Join Predator Free Taupo and  forest and bird volunteers check the rodent traps within Opepe forest reserve. A great opportunity to come and check out a community trapping project to learn how to service traps and become motivated and encouraged to join up and get involved!


  • Major risk is the carpark, SH 5 very busy and traffic is fast.

  • Participants will be briefed at the beginning identifying hazards with walking on and off trail and hazards with using traps

Age: all ages, under 14 accompanied by adult

Transport: Own

Costs: Koha

Grade: 2 - about 4 hour walk

Weather: Will be cancelled if stormy weather including strong winds & lightening. Will go ahead in light rain. Will post on the Predator Free Taupo Facebook page
